I was able to attend the performance of Smooth Jazz pianist, Cecil Ramirez at Back Wine Bar in Folsom, CA.  The venue's atmosphere was awesome, great food, wine, and company...what an evening.  Cecil's performance was awesome, very funky and smooooth...thanks for the inspiration Cecil.  Folks, I highly suggest you get hold of his latest CD release "Talk To The Hand" (available on his website or CDBaby). You'll truly enjoy it...

Traveled to Seekonk, MA just outside of Boston to do some recording at 'Studio Live Recording'.  With Bob Sloane at the helm, we laid down drums tracks  for 6 songs for my upcoming CD 'Reminisce'.  Performing on the drums is the very talented John Poole (Berklee Music kind of guy;).  Thanks for the awesome session gents!

In the mean time, my wife and I included some R&R with the Poole family.  Thanks for the great hospitality Margaret, John and family!  We truly enjoyed.

Performed with the hot band Way2NazD at Zocalo's Cinco de Mayo Festival in Sacramento. The venue was awesome! Various merchants closed off Capitol Ave. between 18th and 19th st and held a festive celebration. Thanks Mel and Tammy for inviting me to perform with you all! 01/26/09

It's been awhile since my last post ...

Been really busy in the studio and performing with some local groups. Early November, I was able to finish up a couple of tracks for my good saxophonist friend, Ray Iaea for his debut CD release titled "The Ray Iaea Jazz Project". Take a listen and enjoy his great playing and tracks. You can purchase his CD here.

Late December, I performed with Tsunami for the Department of Corrections' annual Holiday bash. That was fun.

Early January, I performed with Northern California's renowned Solsa Band at Harlows in Sacramento.

And this past weekend, I attended my good friend Paul Jackson Jr's CD release party at Spaghettini in Seal Beach. I had a great time hooking up with the gang and my relatives! It's one of those...you should have been there!  With that, congratulations Paul on the new release and of course best wishes to you and your new bride!

Jeff Lorber was in town today promoting his new CD "Heard That" at Borders. Thanks to Bruno and Clint for giving me the head's up, I was able to catch his trio performance. Jeff (keys), Nate Phillips (bass), and Mr. Mac (drums and other tracks). Simply awesome...as usual. Most memorable moment?...playing Gershwin....now how 'bout that.

I performed with the renowned Solsa Band of Sacramento at a private function last night...a lovely wedding at the Radisson Hotel, Sacramento. It was definitely a beautiful night for celebration. The bonus of the evening was that Brian Culbertson was also performing at another venue within the hotel. I was able to view parts of his performance during the our extended breaks. He was definitely throwing it down! ...Thank you Joe Garcia and band for allowing me to perform with you all.

Collaboration has started with fellow musician Jim Heidinger (guitarist). Jim's has composed several great Smooth Jazz tunes and some brilliantly composed straight-up Jazz tracks as well. I am looking forward to working with him on his project. 9/8/08
